OUR FOUNDING STORY

The company Gate2Growth was established by Uffe Bundgaard-Jørgensen in 2000 with the goal to use his venture capital background to launch a service to bridge the gap between deep tech and  the financial sector. Through participation in a number of EU-funded projects since 2000, Gate2Growth has developed its special expertise in providing support for exploitation and funding. In parallel, Master Classes on funding, IPR and business exploitation were developed, and since 2010, close to one hundred Master Classes have been conducted throughout Europe targeting entrepreneurs and innovators.

GROWING OUR BUSINESS

Over the next two decades, we grew by taking on a broader role in EU-funded projects, becoming the trusted exploitation partner to helping project partners to realise the full potential of project results. Additionally, we partnered with commercial clients across Europe, guiding them through the complexities of soft funding and grant applications for deep-tech ventures. We ensured that ideas were not just funded but poised for success.
We became experts in guiding projects through the entire lifecycle, from research to market. But as our focus grew, so did the need for specialisation.

CREATING GATE2HORIZON

In 2023/24, we increased our involvement in large EU projects, leading to the creation of Gate2Horizon. This non-profit entity focuses on supporting large EU-funded projects, backed by our extensive expertise and EU partnerships.

Gate2Growth, meanwhile, has shifted to commercial projects, specialising in innovation-focused funding strategies. This transition allows both entities to focus and excel in their areas, leveraging over 20 years of experience to deliver tailored solutions to our partners and clients.
